Education Specialist/Consultant

Full Job Description

As our team grows, we are looking for a full time Education Specialist to join our team in the Washington DC metropolitan area.

Responsibilities

Education Related Work

  • Apply educational theories to motivate and help students improve their performance in or outside of the classroom

  • Conduct online research for education-related projects

  • Gather information and share relevant information with parents and students about the US education system

  • Teach and advise students online or in-person

  • Design and develop curriculum for classes

  • Review and revise college application materials and essays for international students

  • Other tasks as needed

 

Project Management Related Tasks

  • Manage the high school/college application process for a group of students

  • Maintain a positive and professional relationship with students and their family members using various forms of communication (i.e., phone, email, Skype, Zoom)

  • Research school admissions requirements

  • Report student progress and submit relevant documents in a timely manner

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with partnered schools and organizations

  • Support management team in completing relevant projects

 

Qualifications

  • Team-oriented, detail-oriented, motivated, friendly, professional, and responsible

  • Passionate about helping students grow and learn

  • Strong English writing and communication

  • Applicants with a master's degree or PhD in Education, Language Studies, Cultural Studies, Business, Sociology, History, Philosophy, Economics, Science, or related fields preferred

  • Experience in teaching writing and/or TOEFL, SAT preferred

  • Candidates with strong English writing and presentation skills preferred

  • 3-5 years of professional full-time experience is required

  • Applicants with Chinese cultural knowledge is preferred
