Education Workshops

Throughout a child's life they continually look to their parents for education, guidance and support. These days, it seems parents have to take on roles that are larger than life. We understand what a daunting task it is to help your student through each phase of their life, especially when they embark on the path towards college.

At Veritas Education, our services go beyond the student, as we know behind each student is a parent guiding them. Our services range from academic assistance to bridging the gap between cross-cultural/cross-generational communication.

A common misconception from parents is that if my child's first language is English, then their reading and writing skills should be pretty good!

Writing fluency as a basic skill differs greatly from a student displaying strong writing skills. Even the brightest of students struggle to dig deep and create something that shows depth.

We often forget that strong writing is critical to each and every student, no matter which future path they will take. We can see this from the fact that there is a separate writing exam for TJHSST’s admissions process, or that many prestigious universities, such as Princeton, no longer require the SAT writing score. Instead they ask the student to submit a graded writing sample from their high school. All of this tells us that schools and universities expect our students to write better and deeper at a younger age.

So how do we help our students develop skills to write something meaningful? And perhaps more importantly, how do we stimulate their desire to grow in reading, writing, and presentation?

At Veritas Education, we have developed a unique course based on the existing school SOL, Effective Communication: Reading, Writing, and Presentation. This course has been created with vast amounts of knowledge from local schoolteachers, as well as Ivy League education philosophy.

Join us for our Free Workshop where we will cover several of these topics, such as:

- What is deep thinking?

- The importance of deep thinking.

- How to help students improve their writing, and develop good habits.

- What age should your student begin developing strong writing habits?

- ALSO, students who are interested in joining BranchOut! are welcome to participate in the workshop and introduce themselves to make a strong first impression on our leadership team!

These workshops are aimed at helping first generation parents connect, and effectively communicate with their second generation children. This unique situation is extremely challenging, and often goes unaddressed. As the cultural gaps deepen, so do hardships within our children.

Our team speaks from experience, first hand knowledge, and extensive research. We hope to bring understanding from both sides, in order to find foster better communication, resulting in stronger relationships. In the end, the goal is to find a way to make this current struggle, a future strength.
