Enrichment Courses 
SAT Test Prep

We are dedicated to preparing our students for a competitive world. Our goal is that every student will move forward, fully equipped for the next phase in their journey.

We would like to congratulate one of our students, Richard Li, on a perfect SAT & ACT score! This is an amazing accomplishment, something which definitely does not happen by accident. Together with our team, Richard worked diligently to prepare. Through our class, Richard learned how to think deep, and utilize different reading/writing strategies.

How rare is this accomplishment? 
ACT: "Less than one-tenth of 1 percent of graduates who take the ACT get a perfect score of 36."
SAT: "About one in 3,400 SAT-takers nationwide gets a perfect score."

Test Prep Course

This is a two-part intensive crash course designed to prepare students for the SAT. Like the SAT itself, we separate this course into a Reading/Writing section and a Math section, each taught by experienced instructors with backgrounds in humanities (for Reading/Writing) and STEM (for Math). This allows us to cover all sub-sections of the SAT:

 

  • Evidence-Based Reading: This section tests for reading skills and vocabulary use in context. There is a total of 52 questions tested over 65 minutes.

  • Writing: This section tests for grammar and language usage. There is a total of 44 questions tested over 35 minutes.

  • Math: This section covers Algebra, problem solving, and miscellaneous additional topics (Geometry, Trigonometry, and Pre-Calculus). There is a total of 58 questions tested over 80 minutes.

 

Through diagnostic tests, our instructors will identify the areas of strength and areas to target for improvement in each student. Classes will cover the test itself – including familiarizing students with the structure as well as introducing testing strategies. Students will review material covered on the test which they may already have covered in their studies. Finally, instructors will introduce topics covered on the SAT test that students often do not encounter during their schoolwork. This course will equip students with the knowledge and confidence to perform to the best of their abilities on test day.
